One part of the American Dream is to go into business so that you can be your own boss. This thought is appealing, especially if one has had to put up with less than wonderful bosses. There are upsides and downsides:
- No boss, but no regular paycheck.
- Freedom to do what you want, but no one to help you or point you in the right direction.
- No mind numbing bureaucratic rules, but no structure or organization.
In addition to helping small business owners, my legal areas of focus are in drafting partnership and limited liability company agreements, review of leases and other legal documents necessary to form a business, business litigation (either defending or suing), drafting wills and trusts, advice on consumer credit issues (including credit card debt), suing to collect on debts owing, and elder law.
